An Annual Community Event

For over 50 years, the Cathedral of Saint Markella has been a center of spirituality for the Orthodox Christian and Greek community of our area. It is thanks to your continued support that our Cathedral’s mission in safeguarding our faith, traditions and culture endures to this day.

Each year, we gather as one family and celebrate the feast of Saint Basil the Great, highlighted by the annual blessing and cutting of the traditional Vasilopita. This joyous celebration encompasses the overall mission of our Cathedral in a commemoration of Saint Basil who while promoting Christianity also tended to his community by helping the poor and unfortunate.

Join us for a cocktail and sit-down reception featuring Greek music and dancing as well as a special tribute honoring Mr. Constantinos Tsamblakos, for his long time support to our Cathedral.
