Since 1997, there has been plenty of discussion to create an annual award that would simultaneously honor the memory of Bishop Petros of Astoria and recognize a member of our community.
Its purpose was also to acknowledge people of our community who have given generously,
not only to the church, but to the community in general.
These people are role models for action and compassion. They are diplomats for peace and love.
